Avo is made for iPhone and requires iOS 26.2 or later. Some features also need iCloud, Apple Health, camera, Bluetooth, or notification permission. Avo asks only when a related feature needs access.

During onboarding, Avo uses the profile, measurements, activity level, and goal you provide to calculate a starting daily energy target. You can import available profile information from Apple Health and review the result before continuing.

Yes. Core nutrition tracking remains free. Avo Plus adds Circle sharing. Avo AI Plus includes Avo Plus and adds meal analysis, food lookup, nutrition-label scanning, recipe import, cooking-factor estimates, and meal highlights.

Open the plan screen in Avo and choose Restore Purchases while signed in to the Apple Account used for the original purchase. Restoration does not create a new charge.

Use Apple’s subscription controls in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or manage subscriptions from your App Store account. Deleting Avo or an Avo AI account does not cancel an active Apple subscription.

Circles keep meals, products, recipes, meal types, and members together. Every installation starts with a private Circle. You can create additional Circles and switch the active Circle from Avo → Settings → Circle Manager.

Open the Circle’s members screen and invite people through Apple iCloud sharing. Shared Circles require iCloud and Avo Plus. Each invited person needs to accept the Apple share before shared content can synchronize.

You can continue viewing a shared Circle, but adding or editing shared meals requires Avo Plus. Private Circle tracking remains available without the sharing plan.

With your permission, Avo can read step count, active and resting energy, workouts, biological sex, date of birth, height, and body mass. It uses available information on your device for nutrition targets and summaries.

Avo can write dietary protein, carbohydrate, and fat samples when you allow it. You can review or revoke permissions at any time in the Health app.

Avo AI Plus can analyze meal photos, files, and descriptions; look up foods; scan nutrition labels; import recipes; estimate cooking factors; and produce meal highlights. Availability can vary by request and service status.

No. Food matches, portions, nutrition values, recipe details, and cooking estimates can be incomplete or incorrect. Review every result before saving it and do not use Avo AI as medical advice.

Avo uses the camera when you choose to scan barcodes, capture nutrition labels, or add meal photos for analysis. Continuous barcode scanning can use front and rear camera views while the meal is open.

The text, nutrition details, barcode information, or selected meal and label photos needed for your request are sent through Avo’s backend to OpenAI. See the Privacy Policy for the complete description.

Backups include meals, recipes, products, profiles, and photos. Restoring a backup replaces the current Avo data on that installation, so review the selected backup before confirming.

Deleting the account removes the backend account, AI usage records, and purchase linkage. It does not delete meals, products, recipes, or Circles stored locally or in iCloud. It also does not cancel Apple billing or automatically revoke Sign in with Apple.

Delete records in Avo, remove Avo’s iCloud data through Apple’s controls, or remove the app’s local data from the device. Shared Circle data can remain visible to other members according to their access and Apple’s iCloud sharing behavior.
